The Daily Show + The Colbert Report 2010.01.04 - 2010.01.07 (full week) 1/3 the size, 1/1 the funny. Perfect for those with low bandwidth, ipods, or the desire for a tidy archive. source: re-encode (with acknowledgements to SoS and the usual groups) video: h264[2-pass]/300-500kbit/320x180/29.97fps audio: aac/48kbit/24kHz/mono Playable with VLC - http://videolan.org/ Gettable from SoS - http://sonofshun.com/forums
Bud, you don't use 2 pass encoding with x264, you use Constant rate factor of 26 and you WILL get HIGHER quality with a SMALLER filesize than 2 pass.
THIS, is how you encode it. 136MiB vs your LAMe 432, and mine is still 624x352.
And even if I used 128kbps aac and the BP for ipods, I'd still beat your encode by half even though I have around twice the resolution.

Wait, this is an entire week, my bad
Uh, still my encode of 60-70MiB and I have much higher quality resolution and sound, so yeah, your encodes stink.
The higher res won't play on ipods, I can tell you that much... Grabbing one of yours now to see how it compares. I will definitely have to look into CRF. Thanks, fellas...
Okay, apparently I'm wrong and ipods do play 264 up to the standard 640x480 now (I don't really keep up with the firmware updates being that I don't actually own one). The difference between 2pass/crf is pretty negligible at 320x180 but this resolution revelation changes everything. Damn.
